Avalon Film prevents stitches from sinking and stabilizes machine embroidery on fine, transparent fabrics. Avalon Film also serves as a stabilizer for sewing fine silk fabrics, as the film prevents the fabric layers from shifting.
Ideal for:
- Terry cloth, velvet, knitwear
- Silk, organza, tulle
- Buttonholes in thin fabrics
- Transferring quilt patterns
- Sandwich and pizza techniques
Application - Machine embroidery
- Cut Avalon Film to the desired length from the roll and place it on the front of the towel.
- Firmly hoop both together with the embroidery film facing up.
- After embroidering, tear off the excess edges of Avalon Film along the embroidery.
- Immerse the embroidery in lukewarm water so that the remaining embroidery film dissolves completely.
Machine embroidery - fine fabrics
- Place 2 layers of Avalon Film under the fabric to be embroidered.
- Embroider the desired motif.
- Trim excess edges along the embroidery.
- Immerse the embroidery in lukewarm water so that the remaining embroidery film dissolves completely.
Sewing delicate fabrics
- Place fabric between 2 layers of Avalon Film.
- Sew as usual.
- After sewing, carefully tear off the excess film and remove any residue with water (damp towel).
Buttonholes in lightweight fabrics
- Place fabric between 2 layers of Avalon Film.
- Sew as usual.
- After sewing, carefully tear off the excess film and remove any residue with water (damp towel).
Quilting
- Transfer quilt patterns from the template to Avalon Film with a water-soluble pen.
- Baste Avalon Film onto the fabric.
- Quilt the pattern.
- After quilting, carefully tear off the film and, if necessary, dissolve any film residue in water.
