Extra-large eye: The eye is significantly longer than on a standard universal needle (2 mm on all sizes). This reduces friction and protects the thread when using thicker or difficult-to-sew threads.
Deep thread groove: It has a deeper groove on the front, which better protects the thread as it is pulled through the fabric.
Slightly rounded point (Medium Ball Point): Unlike the very sharp Microtex needle or the standard universal point, the Topstitch needle has a slightly rounded point, which is suitable for many types of fabric.
Ideal for topstitching: Perfect for decorative and topstitching work, as thick threads (such as denim thread) or effect threads (metallic) glide through the eye without problems.
Reduces skipped stitches: Due to the special construction, fewer skipped stitches occur when using heavy threads or when sewing over thick layers of fabric (e.g. hems on jeans).
Stability: Topstitch needles are often more robust and are well suited for decorative sewing, free-motion quilting or sewing with twin needles.
